About Emu

HI! I'M EMMA, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS EMU.

I am a mixed media and textile designer, crafter and plant-loving girly, who has an obsession with pastel colours and quirky prints. You can normally find me creating new earring designs in my home-studio in Gloucester, or working on new patterns with my head of knitwear (my wonderful mum) in my knit studio in Cheltenham.

I have been interested in fashion and design since forever, with my education and career always being focused on this. I graduated from Manchester School of Art in 2018 with a 1st Class Honours in Textiles in Practice, and ever since have dreamed of starting my own business doing what I love.

This is how HELLO EMU was born.

HANDMADE | SLOWMADE | EST.2020

Hello Emu is a colourful fashion accessory and small sculpture brand, creating fun and quirky goodies for both you and your loved ones. I specialise in both jewellery and knitwear, with many plans to expand into other areas in the near to distant future!

You can find me at markets all over the Cotswolds, Oxfordshire and Worcestershire, and selling my wares online (duh! you're already here!).

All products are handmade to order and therefore completely customisable by you! There are a lot of options to choose from including size, colour, pattern, metal details and whatever else you can think of. If you would like something I haven't included just drop me a message and we can work on creating your perfect product!

SUSTAINABILITY

Here at Hello Emu, I strive to be as sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible.

I try to create as little waste as possible and re-use where I can. All of my products are handmade and slow-made to try to counteract fast fashion. A lot of care is taken to create as high a standard as possible, therefore my products should last you years!

I have taken great care to ensure that my packaging is either reused or recyclable. All cardboard and paper can be recycled, and if plastic is ever used (which is very rarely and as sparingly as possible) it is either sourced from orders we receive or high street stores who would otherwise throw it away.
